President Volunteer Service Award Program
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier volunteer awards program,
encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.
KTKD is a certifying organization for this program.
We give our children the opportunity to learn Taekwondo, become a Taekwondo volunteer &
earn a nationally recognized award every year from 6th grade to 12th grade.
The PVSA award will make college applications outstanding.
Our student, Viban Gonzales began Taekwondo at age 15.
Most of the other students her age were a higher belt rank than Viban but
she didn’t let that intimidate her.
Having just received her Black Belt, Viban was accepted to MIT for the fall 2016 semester.
By doing TKD, Viban became healthier & gained respect among her friends.
They are excited that she received her black belt & one friend even said that
Viban was accepted at MIT because she does TKD.
All students who apply for Ivy league schools have superior academic performance.
How can you make your application stand out from others?
Extra-curricular activities such as community service & Taekwondo tournament medals &
Black Belt Dan certification will show college acceptance committees that
you not only have excellent academics,
but that you are a self-motivated leader and community activist.
